About

This website claims to offer ‘research-based’ information about online education

Options:

  • What we know from scientific research (a summary/review in Ducth)
  • Practical ‘hands on information’ loads of links to other organisations which offer practical suggestions. It almost is too much too choose, but tis organisation has a national ‘broker’ position and therefore mentions everything worthwhile.
  • Research-based answers to questions, this consists of a short summary in Dutch of recent research to answer a question for example ‘what is the role of parents in distance education.’

Content is mostly text, sometimes a video

About

This is an online ‘platform’ with information for parents, teachers, headmasters (in Dutch ‘voor iedereen’) and others who are involved in online education. The website is well organized, operates with lots of pages and subpages.

Users can choose: primary, secondary and vocational education, NT2 (learning Dutch as a second language), adult education, examination.

Within these subcategories, there is a choice between information for parents and teachers.

For parents: it offers links to external content, sometimes from external companies. The information consists of blogs, video, articles to read, materials (sometimes from external companies) and suggestions for educational things to do (baking cookies and thus measuring ingredients).

Focused on primary resources across the curriculum. Mostly downloadable worksheets and some videos etc. Does not have any specific guidance for parents (it may have done during lockdown) and is definitely aimed at teachers.

Literature and Policy Review

The project team wanted to be sure that the resources we were creating were based on robust academic research already undertaken and informed by national and European policy already in place. The first activity of the project was therefore to conduct a transnational policy review alongside a literature review. We include the findings of these activities in a number of different formats here in our resources page.
