Dilemma

During the lock down teachers experienced problems in reaching out to all pupils and in offering them what they need. As a consequence of the lock down the differences in learning success among children began to differ even more. At the same time teachers were busy to turn their teaching into online teaching by using assignments and instructional videos. The main concern was to guarantee the continuity of the teaching rather than how to tailor the teaching to individual needs of children

In what ways did you respond to this dilemma?

In order to provide adequate offers to over, or underperforming children was to involve parents and in some cases to make instructional videos for parents to help them instruct their children at home.

What are the implications for teaching and learning?

The implications are that there will be a growing amount of online based instructional materials for both pupils and parents and by further extending this set of materials eventually also the possibility to monitor and fine tune teaching and learning will increase again.
